Picture a meadow humming with bees, golden light settling over rows of hives, jars of honey catching the sun. That’s the world Humming Meadow Honey was built around, a family business devoted to real materials, real tradition, and real craft.
“Humming Meadow seeks to celebrate family, nature, and tradition,” the team tells us. What started as honey sold straight from their apiary quickly grew into something bigger. “We quickly saw there was a hunger for American-made home goods created with real materials.” Today, that same philosophy runs through everything they make: their honey never touches plastic, their beeswax candles are hand poured in their home, and none of their merchandise is made outside the USA.
As third-generation beekeepers, Humming Meadow knows a thing or two about craft passed down through generations, and that’s exactly what drew them to Deneen Pottery. “Our focus and fidelity to American-made home goods free of toxic materials like plastic and lead made Deneen Pottery a great fit,” they shared. “We care greatly about intergenerational craft.” It’s a value we understand deeply too, three generations of hand-thrown pottery meeting three generations of beekeeping, both built to last well beyond a single lifetime.

A Mug as Organic as the Meadow, and Built to Last
That same care carried into the design process. When it came to designing their flagship mug, shape was everything. “Everything we do should evoke the meadow where our bees live, so we chose a shape for our flagship mug that felt very organic and flowery.” The result is a mug that carries the same spirit as the hives it was inspired by, soft, natural curves that feel like they were grown rather than made.
Since partnering with Deneen Pottery, the mugs have become Humming Meadow’s best seller. “When we get mugs, we know they will be a good investment for us and allow us to commit to other American-made products as well,” they explained. “We never worry about holding onto dead inventory with Deneen.” That reliability has let Humming Meadow keep doing what they do best: building a shelf of goods that are made to be used, not just displayed.
Ask Humming Meadow what they hope customers feel when they pick up one of their mugs, and the answer comes back to weight, literally and figuratively. “The weight of the mugs is what ultimately sold us, as everything we produce should feel as if it is rooting you to a place; it needs to carry a good weight and feel substantial.” In a world that often feels disposable and rootless, they want every mug to feel like an investment in something significant.
That weight has made an impression in more ways than one. One customer put it best: “The mug is thick and heavy enough that I feel like I could defend my home against an intruder with it.” Not exactly the selling point Humming Meadow set out to make, but they’ll happily take it as a bonus.

Rooted in Every Sip
From hive to home, Humming Meadow Honey brings the same care to every jar of honey, every hand-poured candle, and every mug they choose to carry. It’s a partnership built on shared values, American-made, generational craft, and things made to last, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of their story.
Thank you to Humming Meadow Honey for sharing your story with us. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out their honey, candles, and home goods, and next time you pick up your mug, take a moment to feel just how rooted it really is.
