Think Pink: Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness with a Mug that Makes a Difference

Glaze: Industry: (We work with many different industries)

Faith Lo

Every October, we’re reminded of the incredible strength and resilience of those affected by breast cancer. This year, we wanted to do something meaningful to show our support. That’s why we’re launching the “Think Pink” mug, with 100% of the profits going to the Susan G. Komen foundation to help fund research, support, and hope.

The Think Pink mug features our classic Midway shape, finished in a soft pink glaze with white marbling that makes each mug beautifully unique. The artwork, created by our in-house designer Mary Radford, brings together a thoughtful mix of symbols and messages, the iconic pink ribbon, and the phrase “Think Pink,” surrounded by delicate flowers. The design is simple yet powerful, serving as a daily reminder of courage, love, and the importance of early detection.

At Deneen Pottery, we’ve always believed that what we make should mean something. Behind every mug is a story, a place, a person, or a purpose that matters. Creating the Think Pink mug gave our team a way to connect our craft to a cause that impacts so many lives. Whether you’ve personally faced breast cancer, supported a loved one, or simply wanted to show your solidarity, this mug is a small but heartfelt way to stand with the millions of people affected by this disease.

About the Susan G. Komen Foundation

Since 1982, Susan G. Komen has been at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer. The organization’s mission is to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

Over the past four decades, Komen has invested more than $3.6 billion in research, community health, and advocacy programs. Making it one of the largest nonprofit sources of funding for breast cancer research outside of the U.S. government. But their work goes far beyond funding science. They also provide patient support, help individuals navigate treatment and financial challenges, and drive efforts to make care more accessible for everyone.

Through education, advocacy, and empowerment, Susan G. Komen continues to lead the way toward a world without breast cancer, and we’re honored that the Think Pink mug can play a small part in supporting that mission.

Partner Spotlight: Toasted Yolk’s “Cups for the Cure”

We’re not the only ones raising mugs for this cause. Our friends at Toasted Yolk Café have launched their own “Cups for the Cure” campaign, a pink mug featuring their logo alongside Susan G. Komen, with $5 from every mug sold being donated to the foundation. These mugs are available in person at Toasted Yolk locations.

We love seeing other businesses use handmade mugs to make a difference, and Toasted Yolk’s campaign perfectly captures what this month is all about, community, compassion, and coming together to make change. You can check out their campaign here.

Every Mug Makes an Impact

Whether you’re adding this mug to your collection or gifting it to someone who inspires you, the Think Pink mug is more than pottery, it’s a symbol of hope, unity, and support. Every purchase helps fund research, raise awareness, and empower those affected by breast cancer.

This October, let’s raise our mugs to the fighters, the survivors, and the loved ones we hold close. Together, we can help turn compassion into action, one mug at a time.
