Production Schedule

Working with clay is our life.

My name is Niles Deneen and I’m excited to introduce you to my family’s business, Deneen Pottery. We were founded in 1972 and for the past 20 years we have specialized in creating custom stoneware with a Glaze Engraved™ medallion for a variety of customers all over the United States. Our work is very similar to what you have been getting from Appalachian Terroir, which is one of the main reasons why we are now introducing ourselves to you.

Appalachian Terroir has made special arrangements with my family’s company, in order to continue to provide you with a quality American made product as they, unfortunately, have to close their doors. Although we are saddened to lose a fellow manufacturer – we trust that our excellent customer service and premier craftsmanship will be a suitable substitute.

We have received your existing artwork from Appalachian Terroir and for the next 30 days we are pleased to offer one free set-up using your past design. Our normal first time set-up fee is $150.00, so if you give us a call before Friday, February 10th, you will pay no initial fees. After the 10th, we will still honor a discounted rate of $50.00 through the end of March to resurrect and prepare your artwork. We are happy to share with you our current catalog and price list so you can begin to explore what we do.

In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward to working with YOU to have a successful New Year.

Sincerely,
Niles Deneen

Our life’s work is (LITERALLY) in your hands.

Deneen Pottery Staff- Handmade mugs in AmericaWhat an exciting time for our company to be creating handmade stoneware mugs in the USA. We’re proud to carry forward a long tradition of hand-thrown stoneware designs that meet your personal or business needs. While every piece shares the same level of quality, each one is also individually created by hand so that no two are exactly alike. Over 24 pairs of hands touch each mug through our production process and everything that we ship is food safe as well as lead and cadmium free. Even our unique clay body, invented by Peter Deneen from materials mined in OH, IN and KY, is combined in St. Paul, MN. We also high-fire to 2165º F (cone 6) which means unparalleled durability. We are so proud of our work that we stamp our family name on the bottom of every piece we make!
